Most people go to shows, meet a band, buy some merch and go home. I had the opportunity to go to a show and leave with Beau Bokan a few days before I was scheduled to have heart surgery. How did I end up with Beau? Well he had just gotten kicked out of a show for encouraging kids to mosh. I remember driving past him and screaming “I LOVE YOU” and when I heard him say “i love you” I turned the car around and we talked and drove to Mcdonalds and then back to the show where I dropped him off. He said “you should keep in touch” and gave me his phone number. On my way home I texted him and asked him to stay and for some crazy reason he wanted to! I was blessed to have had a night to learn some awesome things about him and Bobby Shubenski (his friend and merch guy. also in the band Suffer Well) and the rest of BTF. I went into heart surgery 4 days later with a different outlook on life. I never thought that I would EVER have the chance to meet Beau much less bring him home with me. When I woke up from surgery the first thing I did was text Beau and Bobby and I said “I’m alive”. I laid in that hospital bed and I smiled because I felt like the luckiest girl in the world all because I took a chance. I still keep in touch with Beau and Bobby. I’m not posting this to brag about meeting Beau or anything. I’m simply writing this to let you all know that Beau really is a wonderful person and in life you should take as many chances as possible, never hold anything back. You never know what could happen.
